WORD Store, a cozy clothing and lifestyle shop, is nestled in the heart of Walthamstow Village in East London. The store first opened its doors in 2017, born from the Word To The Mother local events community.

Here, families and neighbours come together to explore a curated selection of stylish clothing and trendy lifestyle products. The store's warm atmosphere and welcoming vibe make it a beloved gathering spot for locals looking to connect and shop for unique finds.

The identity should reflect the store's ties to the community, welcome everyone, and show commitment to positive impacts. It should symbolize family, community, and highlight quality and sustainability. The challenge was to make WORD Store stand out and attract customers. The logo will be used on signs, marketing, and products to represent the brand.

We previously designed the identity for the Word To The Mother community before. This work helped me build a strong relationship with the WORD Store team. Together, we began a journey to create the brand's core beliefs. We also sought to understand their ideal customers. As we dove in, we found that community, sustainability, family, and quality were the key pillars of their products and services.

The logo was inspired by building letters from geometric shapes such as squares, triangles, or circles. Bold repeating patterns were added to reinforce the brand's playful and youthful values. The brand's slogan, "Local. Family. Store." was integrated into the logo design to emphasise their core values and positioning as a family and community-oriented store.

The journey of crafting WORD Store's identity has been rooted in a deep understanding of community, sustainability, and quality. The logo, inspired by building letters and infused with bold patterns, symbolizes the warmth and vibrancy of the store's atmosphere. As WORD Store continues to serve as a beloved gathering spot for locals in Walthamstow Village, its identity stands as a beacon of inclusivity, family, and community spirit.
